Braces for Mom

They say, the best time to plant a tree is ten years ago. The second best time is now.

Matthew has been telling me for years that I should get braces. I'm not entirely sure why I've waited so long, but on Monday I finally got a consultation. I really liked the guy who has been seeing Mercy, so I made an appointment with him. He said he understands why my parents didn't put me in braces as a kid, but said my bite could definitely be improved and felt optimistic that fixing it could help alleviate my headaches. I got all the paperwork and made a return appointment.

On Wednesday I had popcorn and Milk Duds for dinner.

On Thursday they put on the braces. I don't know why I thought it would take a while after the initial consultation, but they were ready to get me going pretty much right away. Financially, I really wish I had listened to Matthew and bit this bullet sooner, especially since the kids are all just about ready to start orthodontia as well, but I am grateful to get the ball rolling. They will definitely take some getting used to!
