We commemorated St. Patrick's day with our stomachs. Abraham and Mercy helped make some delicious Irish soda bread and we had corned beef and cabbage, which was a little bland and not as tender as I would have expected after having sat in the sous vide for 48 hours. It was sufficiently festive, however, and we enjoyed wearing green and thinking about something other than the Coronavirus.
To further recognize the day, each kid worked on a little report, which they presented to the family after dinner. Hyrum gave us a history of corned beef and cabbage, Abraham talked about who St. Patrick was, and Mercy told us about how rainbows are made. They put in some really good work, practiced their speeches, and did a great job.
