Summer: Week 8

Matthew left for Nevada on Monday morning. We did swimming and park lunch and the boys got into an epic fight over whose piano timer went off that got both of them grounded from some select privileges. In the evening we went to an Isotopes baseball game. It was "Just Serve" night (formerly known as Mormon night) so lots of friends from the ward and stake were there.

On Tuesday, after the normal morning routine, we had the Jensen boys along with the Pittman boys over to play in the afternoon. There were seven boys ages 5-13 who all got along wonderfully and though it was certainly noisy, it was great fun to have them all here. In the evening I had Activity Days. We did a Mercy/Haley swap so Mercy could play with Olivia and Susan didn't have to take Haley to the church. The boys came along and played basketball in the gym with the Bishop and his son.

Water Wednesday was especially exciting at Park lunch as this week there were water balloons. The rest of the day was low key and relaxed. I worked on a quilt commissioned by my mom and the kids played well together.

Jesse and Cody came over after park lunch on Thursday and the four boys played video games for nearly five hours while I finished the quilt. Poor Mercy was once again out numbered and feeling left out. That evening I let her pick an activity for us and she chose for us to go on a walk together and play at the school playground for a while.

Yesterday was, again, the usual swimming, music, and park lunch. Hyrum went over to the Jolley's for a while and Matthew came home in the mid afternoon. Overall, it was a quiet, normal, relatively uneventful week.

Matthew spent the week in Nevada, playing with grenade launchers, airplanes, and tanks.
