Matthew got a whole day to play during his trip to Seattle, and he chose to use it to explore the Olympic Peninsula. The Eastern side of the mountains had evergreens and snow, and the side by the sea was like a tropical rain forest.
He went in search of catching a glimpse of an elusive Roosevelt Elk, the largest variety of Elk in North America. While he didn't see an elk, he did get within yards of a black tailed deer, which was almost as exciting.
