Heather came over for dinner and scripture study on Monday. Also, I caught Abraham high up in our not so great for climbing tree. This picture was taken after he'd come down a couple branches. I'm amazed that this kid hasn't broken a bone yet!
On Tuesday I did laundry, made bread and custard and soup, cleaned bathrooms, and went on a walk. After school I took Mercy to her first class of this month's session of swimming lessons. My mom arrived for a short, overnight stay on her way to Arizona, and she hung out with Mercy in the evening while the boys and I went to Cub Scouts and Activity Days. There were recently a lot of changes made in ward leadership: Becky got released as RS president and Amy was called as the new RS president, and I got called to take Amy's place as Activity Days leader. I think it's a perfect calling for me right now and I'm super excited about it.
Mercy was home sick with a fever and congestion on Wednesday. She got to watch TV pretty much all day since I already had plans to host a potluck lunch/bridal celebration for Cassie. I made artichoke dip and blueberry muffins in the morning and Mercy and I took a last minute trip to Walmart, then the lunch was at 11:00. There wasn't a huge turnout, but those who came had a fun time and the food was yummy. After school I took Hyrum to UNM for another session of the brain study he participated in last summer. He got $50 for answering a few questions and having some measurements of his head taken. After dinner, I started dipping truffles and stayed up past midnight to finish the chocolates for Cassie and Sarah's family bridal shower. Cassie left Thursday morning for Utah and took with her 50 lavender/lemon macarons and 98 chocolate raspberry truffles. I'm sad I wasn't able to make it out for the shower, but was glad I could contribute in some way to the festivities.
Mercy was feeling better on Thursday, but Hyrum had come down with something similar and he stayed home from school Thursday and Friday. We spent today tucked in with popcorn, homemade frozen custard, and K'nex for a full day of General Conference. In between, sessions Mercy and I went for a walk and the boys shot their new pellet guns in the back yard. It was a perfect day!
