On Monday Matthew started his allergy shots. That evening we had a new couple in the ward over for dinner, family night, and a board game.
I spent most of Tuesday sewing. This blanket was made for my friend Sarah's impending baby boy. Matthew and Jeb left for hunting that evening.
I spent Wednesday morning making pumpkin muffins and carrot soup for a potluck ladies lunch. As I was picking up the tin to leave, they fell and crashed to the floor. I was so frustrated that I shoved the pantry door, making several spice bottles fall and break. It was not my finest hour. I left the muffins and took the soup to the lunch and the kids had no problem eating the crushed remnants as an after school snack. Hyrum had cub scouts that night.
Thursday morning I went to the Temple with Mikaela and Matthew came home that evening.
This afternoon I went with the Missionaries and another brother from the ward to help give a blessing to a sister who is working on coming back to church. Our ward had an assignment to help with open baptisms at the temple and Becky and I had made plans that she'd watch all the kids after school while I went to serve. The original plan was that my kids would ride the bus home with hers, but I found out they weren't allowed to so we changed plans mid-morning. We contacted everyone's teachers and had them tell the kids they'd all be walking home to my house (I'd tend while Becky went to the temple). Everyone got the memo except Hyrum, who thought his teacher meant for him to walk to the Jensen's rather than ride the bus to the Jensen's. I spent forty minutes in the school's front office trying to figure out where he was, but then got word from Mindy that he'd made his way to her house. She brought him home and all was well. Matthew spent the evening down in Los Lunas helping with a stake youth activity.

I thought things would change drastically when all three kids were in school full time. I thought I'd have oodles more time and would be able to get so much more done. Turns out there are still only seven hours between the morning bell and the afternoon one and it takes me just as much time to clean a bathroom or go grocery shopping as it did with Mercy in tow. The only real difference is that I can do all my chores and errands without regard to anyone else's schedule. That, and it's so much quieter. Contrary to my expectations, things really haven't changed that much at all.
