Today was Abraham’s birthday. We got up at 5:00 am packed the car, sang and then Abraham got to open his present from us. He got a tablet and wireless headphones, which he was very excited about and turned out to be a great asset on the drive. The weather was clear, the roads were dry, and the kids traveled great, as usual. We got some breakfast sandwiches in Gallup which cost way more than we thought they would and which we will likely never purchase again. We stopped briefly in Shiprock for Mercy to go to the bathroom, then stopped in Moab for lunch at Burger King (Abraham’s choice). I drove from Moab to the rest stop in Price Canyon, where we took a bathroom break and looked at the train.
We pulled into West Jordan at 4:40 and everyone was glad to be done with the drive. Naomi had a variety of toppings prepared and we each got to build our own personal pizza. She also made an impressive Minecraft cake which not only looked awesome, but was delicious as well. Abraham then got to open more presents. He got some glowing sidewalk paint, a toy car, and some Lego guys from Grandma and Grandpa and a Disneyland blanket from Sarah.

Oh, my sweet, silly Abraham. I have such a tender spot in my heart for you. You are so energetic, yet remarkably easy going. You are resilient and persistent and intrinsically happy. You are a quick learner and naturally good at so many things, yet you are never boastful or mean to others who aren't the same as you. You certainly try my patience with your rambunctious shenanigans, but I love your imagination and how easily you can entertain yourself. Your sweet face always makes me smile and I can never get enough of your hugs and cuddles. How I love you my dearest little six year old.
