January, so far

The first ten days of the new year have sped by. We relaxed and played on New Year's day, then it was back to work for Mama. On Saturday the 2nd I had a primary baptism down at the Stake Center in the morning, then a presidency meeting at the ward building in the afternoon, after which we stayed to redecorate our bulletin boards. Matthew played D&D that night. Despite having four teachers gone on our first day with new classes, primary went reasonably well on Sunday the 3rd. Hyrum had his 7 year well child check up on Monday the 4th. That afternoon we had Mindy and the Jolley boys over for lunch and a play date. In the evening I did my 8 minute test to start a new cycle of bicycle training.

On Tuesday the 4th, the boys were back to school. It was snowy and cold most of last week, so we mostly stayed in and played a lot of Minecraft. I rode my bike Wednesday evening and went grocery shopping on Friday morning. I had made plans to go to the Temple with Hannah and Mindy on Friday evening, but it was storming on the East side and we worried the roads would be too bad, so instead they brought their families over for an impromptu potluck dinner and games. Yesterday morning Hannah and I made it to the Temple. I road my bike in the evening and D&D was at our house last night. Today I had ward council at 10:30, which ran long because of some training. I then rushed home to pick up the boys. Matthew stayed home with Mercy because she has a strange rash on her bum/legs and we worried she might be contagious. I then sat in on a meeting with my second councilor and the nursery leader, which was very productive. Church was from 1:00 to 4:00 and I had to stay to make sure chairs were stacked and things were locked up, so all told I spent about 5.5 hours at church. We had meat and cheese quesadillas for dinner, read a little Harry Potter with the kids, and Skyped with Matthew's parents, then it was time for bed. Matthew and I stayed up a while discussing our financial plans for 2016 and planning out my training schedule for the Century I'm riding in September. It's a good life we have. Busy and uneventful and fun. It's a good life.
