Happy Birthday Braums!

Little Abraham turned 4 years old today!

He was excited to come down in the morning to see the birthday banner hung up and his present sitting on the ledge. I had planned on having him wait until Matthew was home to open his gift from us, but I turned my back for a minute and he and Hyrum already started opening the card. I didn't have anything big planned for the day and he was so excited, so I let him open the package.

He got a Hawkeye bow, which he was absolutely thrilled with. It's the perfect size and user ability for him, and he has carried it around with him all day long. The morning turned out to be business as usual. I kept offering different fun activities and telling him happy birthday, but he insisted I stop saying that! and only requested to watch Power Rangers on the tv. Matthew came home for a couple hours in the middle of the day, and took Abraham out for ice cream. It was Hyrum's early release day, so he got home at 12:45, just in time for us to head right back to the school for his parent/teacher conference. Matthew dropped us off at home afterwards and went back to work. The brothers spent the afternoon playing happily with their bows and arrows and hardly fought at all. Abraham, sweet boy that he is, was happy to go on a special outing with Dad, but really wanted to go out with the whole family, so in the evening all five of us returned to Burger King for dinner. We ate cake back at home, watched an episode of The Flash, then it was bed time.

Abraham is having a joint birthday party with Kaleb on Saturday, and will celebrate with Grandma and Grandpa Kress in Utah next week, so we didn't feel the need to go all out today. Abraham is a super laid back guy though, and seemed perfectly happy with a present, some cake, and a little extra tv time. He's not one for having all the attention on him, so while he's pleased to be 4, I think he's almost more pleased to have us all stop talking about it.

Four things I love about Abraham:

He is by far the best at sharing of all our children. He has a generous heart and is rarely greedy.

He is hilarious. From his facial expressions and silly voices to his crazy awesome dancing and super hero moves, Abraham keeps us always entertained.

He has a vivid imagination. I love listening to the conversations and running narratives of his make believe play.

He is very tender. He loves to cuddle, give hugs and kisses, and frequently comes to me throughout the day just to say I love you Mom.
