We have to redo the stairs... again. The cable guy came on Monday because we've been having trouble with our internet. He was going downstairs when one of the noses broke off and he fell down several steps. Luckily he wasn't hurt, but the way Matthew pieced together the treads is clearly not strong enough and they need to be replaced. He started ripping out his hard work that afternoon.
Yesterday morning Matthew went to the dentist. He found a deal for a free check-up for new patients at a clinic near out house, where they confirmed that he needs a root canal. His tooth broke a couple months ago and has been bothering him, but we've been holding off until we have dental insurance to get it taken care of. The pain has gotten too bad to bear though, so this morning he went to the IU dental school down in Indy. They can do the procedure and put on a crown for half the cost of most clinics. Now we just have to wait for someone to call and schedule it. Hopefully we can get it taken care of in the next couple days.
On a happier note, everyone seems to be feeling better. The culture came back from Abraham's ear and turns out he had a staph infection. We got him on antibiotics quick though, and it has healed up remarkably well. Mercy is back to sleeping soundly through the night, Matthew fixed the oven, and my vacuum cleaner magically started working properly again. The weather is sunny and warm, everyone is reasonably healthy, and we've got nothing but time to get some work done.
