Hyrum is really into super heroes. Iron Man is probably his over all favorite, though he goes through phases of who he's obsessed with. He knows all of the prominent X-Men and many of their mutant enemies. He likes Spiderman to watch and look at in comics. When it comes to pajamas, Superman is usually his favorite and we've checked out a number of Superman beginner books that he enjoys. He mentions Batman on occasion, though he hasn't really had much exposure to him. He can also identify Captain America, the Hulk, and Thor. Along with the more classic Marvel and DC characters, he also has a fondness for The Incredibles and pretty much anyone who wears tights and is really strong.
More than reading about or watching super heroes, he loves to be a super hero. He has what I think in his mind is the standard issue power of shooting energy blasts from ones hands. Mom, Dad, and Abraham all have that one as well. Hyrum's unique powers include Cyclops power (where he squints and makes a shooting noise), tornado power (where he spins around in a circle and stuff around him is supposed to get sucked in), and my personal favorite, the lizard bone (where he pushes a button on his shoulder and lizard bones shoot out). I love that he totally made that last one up on his own. He also has the kiss of life, so he can bring people back to life after he destroys them.
On this particular day he was being He-Man and specifically requested I take a picture of the sword sheathed in his shirt.
"By the power of Grayskull... I have the Power!"
