Tell City

Matthew's family stayed with us in West Lafayette from Friday evening until Tuesday afternoon. Other than all the egg activities, we had a lovely low key time mostly just playing with the kids. Matthew and his dad worked on the car a lot. They replaced the rotors and tried diagnosing the funny check engine light issue we've had on and off for the past year. I made a yummy chicken tikki masala, we watched some General Conference, and Sarah and I went to The Hunger Games. It was the first time I've seen a movie in the theater since we moved here.

Matthew had a meeting on Tuesday morning, so while he was gone we packed up and got ready for Kress Family Vacation part 2. After lunch we set off to visit Matthew's Dad's Dad down in Tell City. We stopped at a pick-n-pull car lot in Indy and were lucky to find a computer that is compatible with our car, as well as a cruise control module. We pulled into Great Grandpa's house around 8pm where a dinner of fried chicken was waiting for us. Wednesday was spent visiting and playing in the yard, and we headed back home Thursday after breakfast. My favorite part of the trip was the little impromptu tour that Kip gave Matthew and I as we looked for cheap gas. The drive home was beautiful and went exceptionally well. All in all, I'd say it was a very successful visit.

Such a beautiful pink bush. I so wish I lived in the Midwest . . . not so much Indiana but the Northern or Western subs of Chicago, suburban Minneapolis, or Ann Arbor, MI.
