For family night we let the boys loose in the back yard to hunt for the eggs we'd decorated, as well as the extra fun treats Grandma and Grandpa brought.
Abraham spent most of the time walking around with an egg in each hand, but occasionally he'd come across one in the grass and would bend down to pick it up. My favorite thing was watching him try to retrieve the third without loosing the two he already had.
The loot included a notebook, ruler, and pencil box of markers for each boy, as well as some packs of fruit snacks. Hyrum was so excited to go in and eat the eggs, but his enthusiasm was completely deflated when he discovered that underneath all the dying and decorating, it was actually a real egg. He remembered his hunt last year and was fully expecting his creations to break apart and reveal pieces of candy. After that, he wanted little to do with any of it. Abraham, on the other hand, really likes boiled eggs and though he didn't have much to do with their festive preparation, ate just as many as the rest of us.
