Tummy Troubles

I took Abraham in for his 15 month well-child check up yesterday. I was grateful the appointment was already set so I could follow up with his doctor regarding all the weird issues he's been having. I was also really grateful that she genuinely listened to and addressed all my concerns. Though he seems fine and healthy upon a generic examination, I've felt for some time that something just isn't right. His crying and fussiness seem a bit extreme and appear to be caused by something other than his lack of communication skills. He's always hungry and has never had solid poo. We've been thinking that he's kind of chunky, but the doctor said he's actually a bit lean for his height and it's the swelling that makes him look fat. After discussing several symptoms and other factors, Dr. Froberg believes there is some sort of digestion issue and thinks it is likely a food allergy. We are trying a non-dairy non-wheat diet for a week and have a follow up appointment next Monday. If we see improvements, then she'll send us to an allergist to narrow down the cause. If we do not see improvements, then she'll send us to a gastrointestinal doctor for further investigation. Either way, she is committed to helping our little Braums feel better.

Oh, I hope he doesn't have allergies. They SUCK! But they're totally liveable if you have to. Crossing my fingers!

Hope it goes well, and you figure out what is going on. Then call Gabbi, because she can help you find and create delicious foods using or excluding the ingredients you need.

P.S. I was officially productive yesterday. I wiped down the walls in the baby's room, and set up the second crib (with out cursing, it was a pain until I figured out a trick). I still need to organize the closet, but it isn't that bad, oh and I still need to clean and organize the rest of the house, but I did one whole room!! You are my motivation!

Um, I don't know if it's too late and you already know, but good luck with everything! I hope you guys figure everything out. Not knowing is the worst. Good luck!
