Busy Week

Monday we stayed home and I got a lot done: cleaning, organizing, and some food preparation for later this week and next. There was a tornado warning at 3:30 in the afternoon. It was as dark as night and there was enough wind and rain to make waves in our cul-de-sac. The storm didn't last long and no damage was done, but it was still a bit bizarre to have May weather in November.

This is the tree in our front yard.
The color contrast of it against the dark stormy sky was stunning, though there wasn't sufficient light for me to adequately capture the moment.

Tuesday morning was Moms and Tots (we had pumpkin muffins and a ball day in the church gym). I didn't get nearly as much done that afternoon as I hoped to, primarily due to the need to air out Abraham's bum. He's got a really bad sore that just won't heal and the doctor said he should go diaper-less as much as possible. That meant I spent much of the afternoon attempting to avert the natural outcome of a bare bottomed baby. After the boys were in bed, I went to a girls night where we exchanged home-made Christmas ideas. It was fun, and there was pie.

Matthew stayed home this morning to get some more work on the bedroom floor done. He and Hyrum worked while Abraham and I went to Institute. I came home and put Braums down for a nap and was then able to go to the grocery store all by myself! Matthew has a poster session this evening so we dropped him off at school at 3pm and went to the library. The boys did great and I was able to pick out a bag full of books and Sesame Street videos. This evening I have 4 pies to bake and hope to do a little sewing while said pastries are in the oven.

Tomorrow morning while Hyrum is at preschool, Abraham and I will go to the church to help set up for our quarterly enrichment meeting. It starts at 6:30 and since I'm on the committee, I'm sure I'll be there late cleaning up. Oh yeah, and it's our 4 year wedding anniversary. We might have to celebrate another night!

Friday we have appointments to visit teach two great sisters, and then starts the cleaning frenzie to get everything ready for my family's visit. Saturday is Abraham's birthday, as well as the birthday party for one of Hyrum's little friends. My parents and Grandpa should arrive sometime Sunday evening, initiating a week of Thanksgiving festivities. Sheesh...I'm only half way through the week and I'm already beat!
