We block the upstairs vents during the day, and then open them up at night. Last night when Matthew went to turn the lever at the furnace he smelled natural gas. We checked to see if we could locate the source, and found a joint leaking. We called the gas company and they told us to get everyone out of the house and wait for one of their on-call technicians to come check it out. Of course this was at 9:30 and Hijo was already down for the night, but the house could blow up so better to be safe than sorry. Poor guy was probably so confused as we stuck him in the car seat, pulled out of the driveway, and then parked on the street in front of the house. We waited outside for about 25 minutes, the guy came, tightened a pipe, and said we were fine to come back inside. It was somewhat anti-climactic, and I'm sure Hijo was even more confused as we pulled him out of the car and put him back to bed without ever going anywhere, but better that than an explosion or a super pricey complicated repair.
And here's a picture, just because I like it. It makes me think of my Grandma, probably because of the pillows. It was taken a few weeks ago, just after his concrete face plant.
And now for my plan as far as the future of this blog goes. The idea is to shut down for a few days (hopefully it only takes that long) for a few renovations. Then I'll send your emails saying you've been invited to view us, you'll follow the link it provides, and everyone is happy. For those who are not big bloggers, here are a few things to note: you do not need a Google account, you will have to "log in" when you want to see the site (just by entering your email and a password), and new posts will no longer show up in any RSS feed you may have. I'll try hard to post at least weekly. That is all.

Oh my gosh, that's scary!
Ah, going private. It seems pretty necessary at some point if you have kids.
Glad your house didn't blow up! And I miss you.
