...more like Argh! Home ownership. A little over a week ago the kitchen sink was backing up. Upon addressing the clog, we discovered the sewer pipe in our crawl space was leaking. Upon addressing that leak, we found a leak in the spigot that connects to the clothes washer. Upon addressing that leak, we learned of a leaking pipe in the hot water heater. I say we, but really I mean Matthew. Poor guy has been in and out of the crawl space and back and forth to various hardware stores all week. What a time consuming, expensive, leaky mess! I'm not complaining at all, as we are very grateful to have a home and be in the position to take care of it, but I do wonder if it really needs to pile up on us like this. And to top it all off, a colony of ants moved into our crawl space while we were gone, and now my hands perpetually smell like bleach because of the nightly wiping down of all kitchen surfaces. Argh!
In other news, I made bagels this afternoon and they turned out remarkably well. I bought some clearance fabric and am going to start on some place mats and decorative pillows. I'm working on learning French. Hyrum has a bit of a runny nose, but has been his super active self these past several days. He has learned all about climbing and is all over everything now. Sometimes it's super cute, and sometimes it gives me mini heart attacks. The child is fearless! Matthew has started school up again, and this semester is going to keep him really busy. He'll start doing research this summer and we're excited about that.
And for your viewing pleasure, a picture that has nothing to with what I've posted, but I think it's darling.

Look at you, all domestic and conquering the world! I love French. ANYTHING you say in French sounds beautiful. Lots of hugs for you and your boys.
That's what I fear with home ownership one day...the maintenance.
Way to develop and use your talents!
