The Second Best Day of the Year

I love Christmas, and it is truly my favorite day of the year. My second favorite day of the year however is December 26, also known as the day we clean up and put Christmas away. Because Hyrum's birthday is the 27th, we always try to make a clear distinction between the holidays and his special day, which means the 26th is usually a super productive day and the house ends up feeling so clean and fresh.

Today was definitely the most productive day we've had in ages. I got all the Christmas decorations taken down and put away in the attic. We also made a ton of progress on the accent well. While Matthew finished putting up the shiplap, I mudded all the nail holes. We then sanded the wall and Matthew went through and did a second filling of nail holes with spackle. It got sanded again, then primed, and got the first coat of blue paint on. The progress we made was almost epic. In addition to all that, we still had time to run to Home Depot, eat pizza and watch a show with the kids, and I made Hyrum's birthday cake. Abraham spent the day building his Lego set, Mercy played with her dolls, and Hyrum played video games. It was a great day for everyone!
