Abraham is potty training. He responds exceptionally well to the prospect of candy, and has peed in the toilet several times in order to get his tootsie roll. I'm not pushing it, just letting him decide at what rate he wants to go. He's still in a diaper, but if he keeps it dry consistently for a few days, we'll switch to underwear. It will be nice to have this stage over with.
We finished painting the walls and molding in the kitchen, and all the appliances are back and usable. We still need to paint the cupboard doors and shelves, so all my food, dishes, and cooking utensils are still in boxes upstairs, but I was able to prepare a real meal last night and it was heavenly. I'm also very grateful to have the fridge and extra table out of the play room. I was starting to feel very claustrophobic in there.
This is what happens when you leave Hyrum alone with Mercy for a few minutes:
He thought it was absolutely the most hilarious thing he had ever seen. Hyrum really loves his little sister. He laughs and is the happiest when he is around her. She loves him too and favors his company above anyone else's (except perhaps mama).
Mercy spent a few days last week unusually fussy. She was also producing an incredible amount of drool, so perhaps she might be starting to grow some teeth. It could also just be a growth spurt, as she's spent a lot more time sleeping. She'll be wide awake and cooing, then the next minute she's dropped off for a little nap. The last couple days though she's been back to her super happy, smiley self. We sure love this girl!
