I signed Hyrum up for a two week swimming class at the local pool. He's in the water exploration class, which I thought he'd really enjoy. Unfortunately, he's spent every 30 minute lesson so far like this:
I'm pretty sure his apprehension is primarily due to being in a group of strangers. One of the helpers (who I learned today is the daughter of the bishop in another ward) has been especially attentive to him. I'm hoping that with her continued encouragement and after some one on one time with me in our kiddie pool, he'll be more inclined to participate next week.
Poor Abraham spends the half hour watching from the other side of a fence. I don't think he'd be any more inclined to stick his face in the water than his brother, but he sure looks longingly at the cool water and pool toys those big kids get to play with.
