Baby Steps

Abraham took his first steps today.

All week he's been gaining confidence in his ability to stand on his own, and then this morning at preschool he took three little unaided steps towards the pile of legos that the big kids were playing with. I was so pleased to have witnessed it, since Hyrum's first steps were with Sarah and Grandma Naomi. My baby is growing up in many ways and it's almost impossible for me to accept that he's been around for nearly a year already. He loves to play with his brother and will copy his actions as he learns how different toys are used. He likes to make noises, which Hyrum will then imitate and they both just laugh and laugh. He often starts saying mamamama when I go to get him out of the crib, but I don't know if he's really making the association or if he just knows I like it when he says that. He's down to two, sometimes only one nursing a day. Weaning him has been harder and easier than I thought it would be. If he'd only grow some more teeth (he still only has the bottom two) then we could try out some more exiting foods. As it stands, he's a big fan of Oyster crackers and canned green beans. He's napping better during the day, but has started waking up between 4 and 5 every morning with a full diaper and an interest in nursing. It's probably time to cut off his liquids at least an hour before bedtime. He continues to be super smiley. He loves to cuddle, he's into everything, and he's an absolute joy to have around.

That's wonderful! Go little Abe! Growing up so fast, aren't they?

Hello:
I love oyster crackers! With the exception of legumes and various forms of tomatoes, canned vegetables never touch my lips.

If it's anything, Luke eats nearly everything we eat. He can even do a chicken nugget on his own. And he has ZERO teeth! It kinda blows me away, but he just led us there and now has to eat the good stuff with us. Those gums are super powerful and can eat more than you would think.
