Observations

1. Hyrum is not old enough for Jamba Juice. It was too much to expect him not to play with the straw, and while in theory a sippy cup works well, in practice we found that the little seeds got stuck in the holes and rendered the spill-proof lid equally inconvenient.

2. Despite the fact that it takes up most of the trunk, having the double stroller would have been 100% worth any trouble packing it may have caused. The weather was lovely and Notre Dame a beautiful campus, but we never got more than a few blocks from the hotel before Hyrum decided his feet hurt or he was thirsty or someone needed a diaper change or I would have bought us a treat but my wallet was in the diaper bag which was too heavy to carry and didn't fit on the umbrella stroller.

3. Sharing a room with the boys went better than I thought it would. It was definitely more work than sticking them in their own space and letting them play/cry themselves to sleep, and once we were up they were up so there wasn't much down time, but it was less nightmarish than I anticipated.

4. Cranky Hyrum in a car is not much easier than cranky Hyrum in a hotel room.

5. Indiana is beautiful, and plots of land like the one Matthew and I dream of are all over. I really enjoyed the two and a half hour drive from Lafayette to South Bend and have a renewed desire to put down roots in the Midwest.

6. Microwave quiche is gross.

(Sorry, no pictures. We just updated Ubuntu and it did something weird to the photo application. I've got some good ones though, so stay tuned!)

Sounds a lot like my life. I have the same anticipated fears of going places.

Hello:
I agree with you. I love the upper midwest. I'd rather live in IL than IN, though. My cousin Dana Rae lives in beautiful area in MI; but, the economy stinks. Parts of WI are beautiful too! If I could live anywhere in the midwest,it would be SUBURBAN CHICAGO, Minneapolis St. Paul, or Madison, WI. I could live in South Bend or Indy. Colorado has great weather; but . . . I could move!
