I thought, all things considered, that I would do little blogging here in Indiana, at least during our first few weeks. Taking into account our internet situation and all that needed to get done, I figured I'd be lucky to post something once a week. Turns out getting on-line is more convenient than we anticipated and while there's lots to do during the day, there's not much going on after business hours. We don't have tv to waste away those last day light hours (which is a bigger blessing than I realized) and we are somewhat limited by our dwindling pre-paid cell phone minutes and no land line. Blogging makes me feel connected to something familiar and not so far away. So forgive me if my frequent bits and blurbs don't say much or seem menial. For now, it's the closest I feel to "home". Now, don't get me wrong, I really love Indiana. If I had to move away, I don't think there's anywhere else I'd rather have gone. It is a beautiful evening here and I am happy to be where I am.
Almost everything we need to get set up requires proof of residency. Today we were able to get library cards! The county library mailed us some self addressed post cards so we could prove to them that we do indeed live here. It's a bummer the DMV wouldn't accept the same post cards.
