ASAP

As a general rule, this well known acronym typically means As Soon As Possible. I, however, like how Horton (from the movie Horton hears a Who, which I definitely recommend) defines the term: Act Swiftly Awesome Pachyderm. I like this better because it inspires him to do something now, rather than as soon as possible. Sometimes "possible" isn't possible until one acts, so if you wait around until "possible" becomes possible nothing ever gets done. That seems to be the predicament I often find myself in these days. For me though, it's not really the possible part I struggle with. Most things I want/need to do are already possible (the laundry, the dishes, water the garden, make dinner, write on the blog...). I have a bigger problem with the "as soon as..." part. It's usually "as soon as I have a spare minute I'll..." But there are always spare minutes, and I'm so good at wasting them. For example: I've got 30 minutes while dinner is cooking and I'd like to leisurely read a book, but then I think of all the other things I should probably do instead. Those aren't as fun though, so I hem and haw and end up spending half an hour picking at the loose string on my shirt. What a waste! I didn't do what I needed to do or what I wanted to do. I didn't do anything.

I wish to be better than I am. I am not yet the size of an elephant (though my clothes are fitting a bit tighter) but I am determined to Act Swiftly today.

On that note, here's a bit of an update: We are now officially out of the first trimester. The nausea is all but gone. I still have my moments, but for the most part I am feeling much better as far as that goes. We have our next appt coming up next week. We'd like to take a vacation in a few weeks, but turns out I don't have much available time off due to being so sick back in January. That's a bummer. We got our garden planted finally. I was recently called as the compassionate service committee leader, and Matthew and I just started as temple volunteers. We work every Friday evening, Matthew with the temple engineers and me in the baptistery. At work Matthew was put in charge of the Grantsville telescopes as well as all the under-grad employees, and he got a raise. Yay Matthew! My work is not that exciting, but I am grateful for the employment. I plan to post more often, so I'll let this suffice for now.

Compassionate service, does that mean you are out of the nursery or is that in addition to? And who are the temple engineers and what do they do? I can't believe you are already out of your first trimester, time flies.

Wow, that is crazy that you are already that far along. How many weeks are you? I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. I haven't heard from you in a very long time. Feel free to shoot me a message or email sometime and we can catch up.
