Baby appointment #2

We went to our second baby appointment this afternoon. Last time I was unaware that it's routine procedure to pee in a cup and had to spend the majority of the visit drinking water shots out of one of those miniature dixie cups. Today I made sure to have sufficient liquid intake pre-arrival. So, we got there, I peed, we waited for half an hour, the doctor asked how I'm feeling and if we had any questions, and that was about it. Not super eventful. But, we did get to hear the heart beat and that was pretty exciting. It took her a minute to find it, and for a while all we could hear was my heart. But then there was a fast sorta wooshing sound that kind of reminded me of a train and that, she said, was the baby. It was nice to actually have some sort of tangible proof that there's something growing inside me. I'm not really showing, and since I've been feeling better it's sometimes hard to imagine me pregnant at all. But there it was, the heart beat of wee baby Kress. The doctor said it sounded perfect. In fact, it seems everything so far is text book. I'm so grateful! I go in for another check up in 4 weeks, then an ultra-sound in 6 or 7 weeks. So I guess we're moving right along!
