My Mother's day was nice, though not quite what I anticipated. Abraham made protein pancakes for breakfast, and the kids all gave me cards and a few handmade gifts. Matthew got me four boxes of protein treats, which was very thoughtful. We left early for church because Abraham's gift to me was playing prelude music on the organ. Not long after we got there, my parents showed up. I am not generally a huge fan of people as surprises, but thankfully Matthew gave me some heads up, so the surprise was mainly on the kids. Abraham's organ playing made my heart happy, and Hyrum gave a very nice talk. After church, we all went back to our house and enjoyed brisket and roast vegetables for an early dinner. While I wasn't expecting them, my parents visit with us ended up being one of the nicer ones we've had with them. They left around 6pm, and we headed over to Sterling's house for a dessert bar. It was a fun way to end what turned out to be a very nice Mother's day.
Hyrum stayed home sick from school on Monday and Tuesday. That makes three weeks in a row that someone in the house was ill.
I joined a gym on Monday, and went every day the rest of the week. I had a special jump start session on Thursday where they got all my stats and did an assessment of my fitness level. The trainer took a full hour with me and it was really insightful and super helpful. Then on Friday I had my first of three sessions with a personal trainer, which was also super awesome. I'm surprisingly excited to put in the time and effort towards getting in proper shape.
In other news, I spent about 12 hours this week working on the truck repair video/web article, had lunch with my friend Amy, baked for my contribution to our end of year seminary party, and we took our turn cleaning the church building. I started back up on my headache medicine, which makes me very sleepy as I get it fully in my system, so it wasn't an especially productive week.
My new dishwasher (which Matthew ordered back in December) finally got delivered. We are all a bit flabbergasted at how well it cleans. It cost a pretty penny, but I genuinely think it will save us oodles of time and hassle.
Mercy had a field trip to an Isotopes baseball game. She initially said she wanted to try going on a field trip without me, so I didn't sign up as a chaperone, then when the time came she was a bit sad I wasn't there. Baseball in the heat of the day isn't my very favorite, so if I was going to miss a field trip, I'm not terribly sad this was it.
Hyrum had his end of year choir concert.
The boys got to go do paintball for Isaac's birthday and had a ton of fun!
