We, rather spontaneously, decided to go all out for the 40 minute socially distanced ward Halloween activity. We spent the day creating costumes. I sewed Abraham a racoon tail and altered a maiden dress that we purchased several years ago from china that was far to large. Matthew turned a lazy susan into a barbarian shield for Hyrum. We also made a barbarian necklace out of his deer teeth and a cape out of a piece of cow leather from Matthew's mission. Matthew then cut up a piece of my Grandma's old table to make himself a medieval shield. We made a last minute run to Walmart for face paint and hair color. The group of us turned out pretty festive!
Mercy and Abraham were Baby Groot and Rocket Racoon.
Hyrum was a Scottish barbarian.
Matthew and I were a medieval knight and maiden.
The ward party involved a door decorating contest, socially distanced costume parade, and bags of candy to grab on the way out. The kids were happy to get out of the house and it was a reason to get dressed up.
