Abraham's New Year

Abraham and Mercy were both feeling pretty sick, so we took them to the pediatrician on Monday. It looked like Mercy had the beginnings of an ear infection, and Abraham's nose was so stuffed and swollen that the doctor prescribed a spray to help clear him up. He'd used it twice, then yesterday broke out in a bumpy red rash all over his body. I called the doctor, but since it was New Year's Day, the only one I could get through to was the Medicaid nurse's line. They strongly recommended we take him to an insta-care or the ER. The insta-care near our house doesn't accept our insurance, so it was across the river to the ER. Matthew took him, and they were in and out in hardly no time. They ran some tests, including a check for strep, which all came back negative. The doctor believes Abraham has developed a viral rash in reaction to Mercy's sickness. It should go away in two or three weeks. Today his skin is no longer red, but he's pale and dry and still covered in raised bumps all over his trunk and upper extremities. At least it's not itchy and doesn't seem to bother him at all.

that whole viral rash happened to me too. Weird stuff. Good to see you are healthy and happy for the most part!
