The Tribuchet of Doom

Purdue had a two day Fall Break this week and we were able to make a small dent in our ever growing to-do list. Here's what we got done on Monday:

and here's what was accomplished on Tuesday:

Matthew calls it the Tribuchet of Doom. While it does look something like a medieval catapult, really it's  a drywall lift. The hope was that it would take only a few hours to build and we'd be able to start putting the walls and ceiling back up, but after 3 trips to Menard's, about 7 hours of labor, and a sudden evening rainstorm the Tribuchet of Doom is laying disassembled in the garage. With just a little more tweaking it should prove useful in the job for which it was designed, but until then perhaps we'll cover it in cobwebs and set it out as a Halloween decoration.

I like the floor, it's a huge improvement on what was down before...good luck getting the house back together! Hope you are feeling well, you are getting so close to holding your new baby....wish you were closer so that we could snuggle the little guy when he comes!
