My family came from Denver to visit over the holiday weekend. My Grandpa recently moved in with my parents and he seemed to have an especially good time. We mostly just hung around the house and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Since the 4th of July was on Sunday, we celebrated our nation's independence the day before. Fireworks are legal here in Indiana and Grandpa and Matthew were like two kids in a candy shop. They had a great time picking out their loot, and an even better time setting it all off. They did most of the noise making ones in the afternoon while the women folk went shopping, then after a BBQ and a little down time they fired off the more visual explosives. It was really a lot of fun.
Hyrum was not a fan of anything that made noise, though he did like the sparklers. He was a tired guy before it even got dark, so he only made it about 15 minutes after we got started and then had to be put to bed. Perhaps next year he'll enjoy it more.
