Fixing the Car

Last month our car was giving us some (a lot) of trouble. I mentioned being stuck in parking lots before, so I won't repeat those headaches here. We were able to get it started again each time though, and we needed some parts to do the job properly, so we waited a while to fix it up. The parts and tools arrived, Matthew spent the better part of a week's worth of evenings in the garage, and now our Buick is back on her feet. Matthew ended up replacing the fuel pump and fixing a leak. It all went remarkably well and we feel good about the repair. This post is a little belated as all this happened a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to post these pictures before they became too obsolete (and if there are any guys out there reading this they might find the jack stands kinda cool).

And since we're doing some older pictures, here's one of Hijo from quite a while ago that I never really had a reason to post but is one of my favorites.

PS, there's some new recipe's on the Kitchen page.

He's so big! And lucky you. Hooray for an in-house mechanic!

My parents had hand-me-down cars held with duct tape until I turned five. During my kindergarten year, my mom bought a green Volkswagen convertible with some cash she invested in the stock market. When I turned seven, we bought a Volkswagen bus that we took on our first road trip to Colorado :) sh
