Babies on strike?

I think perhaps all the babies woke up a couple days ago and decided to drive the mommies of the world just a little insane. I have first hand experience with three such wee ones, and have a number of friends with little ones who have all of a sudden become particularly picky eaters or are pulling all nighters giving no respite to their weary mothers. Is there something in the February air that induces whining and encourages disobedience?

Who ever sent the message, Hyrum got the memo. He has little interest in eating anything other than raisins and graham crackers, has decided naps are no longer an option, and voices quite vehemently his desire to be constantly held (which is a very uncommon request). Poor guy is either cutting a mouth full of teeth all in one go, or I've got a two year old 10 months too soon. We're still best buds, but I'm sure beginning to miss my mild mannered, independent, sleepy head.

In related news, the other night I was awoken at 2am by a screaming baby sufficiently distressed to get me out of bed. I stumbled into his room thinking he must be sick or at least have his foot stuck in the side of the crib, but no. Upon seeing me, he sat up and said, completely seriously, "Mom. Cow moo." There was no tears, no pain inducing predicament, no regard for the inhumane hour at which he was waking me. I wonder if he thinks it's a universal code for "let's play". I admit, looking back, it's a bit endearing, but at the time I was not amused.

And finally, to support suspicions that he would be a rather rambunctious little guy once mobile, Hijo has bonked, bashed, and banged himself to pieces the past couple of days. Yesterday he crashed hard enough to leave lasting evidence twice in ten minutes, and today was his first blood producing fall, which left him with a fat lip. This child needs a rubber suit and a padded room!

I think Warren joined the strike the last few weeks as well. He has finally settled back to normal. good job on posting a cute picture of you with him, although it makes me laugh he is practically as big as you are.
